Monocot systems for fundamental plant research

objectives
The goal of this two-days course is to provide the participants with comprehensive information on how to take advantage from forward and reverse genetics as well as natural diversity screens in monocot systems. On overview over completed and emerging cereal genome sequences will be presented and available genomics resources and cell biological tools will be discussed. Students will have the opportunity to exchange with invited international experts who are leaders in the field of cereal genetics and genomics.

pre-course assignment
The instructors have selected literature and designed questions to prepare for the monocot course. Participants should have read all the publications and have answers to the questions.
In addition participants should formulate questions for the instructors.

Travel expenses: participants of the doctoral program are eligible for reimbursement of incurred travel expenses by train (half-fare card, and 2nd class). Please send the original tickets (no copies, except for the general abonnement) at the end of the term to Dr. Christiane Bobillier. No reimbursement for bus, taxi or car travel expenses will be paid.
