Content
The aim of this 2-day workshop is for students to learn about the theory and practice of open science to promote transparent and reproducible research.
The first day will consist of four 1-hour talks by invited speakers. Talk will cover introduction to open science, open access publishing, open data, open code, preprints, and open peer review. These presentations will be followed by a round table where speakers and invited administrators from UniNE, UniL and the SNSF will answer questions from the audience and engage in open discussion with the students.
The second day will begin with a 1-hour talk about preregistration and registered reports. This will be followed by a hands-on workshop led by two ambassadors from the Center for Open Science (COS). The students will learn how to use the COS Open Science Framework, an online platform that facilitates conducting and sharing research transparently: https://osf.io/

Registration
- This course is free and open to all PhD students, but priority will be given to Organismal Biology and CUSO StarOmics doctoral programs participants until 19 January 2020.
- Master students, post-docs and other researchers are welcome as long as places are available.
- Maximum number of participants: 40 people.
