Jacques-Michel Grossen
Well known within the University of Neuchâtel, the Professor of Law Jacques-Michel Grossen stayed faithful to the faculty he founded, resisting other universities’ many attempts to poach him throughout his career. As an assistant, a lecturer from 1954, a professor in 1956, a full professor in 1962, faculty dean from 1961 to 1963 and vice rector of the University from 1975 to 1979, Professor Grossen had an enormous impact on the University. The quality of his teaching, his encyclopedic knowledge in — and beyond — the law, his openness and his kindness all distinguished him as the ideal professor.
